Twin Flames

Twin flames, also known as twin souls, are a spiritual concept that refers to two individuals who are believed to be connected on a deep, soulful level. It is believed that twin flames are two halves of the same soul, separated at birth and destined to reunite in this lifetime or another. This connection is said to be intense and transformative, with the potential to bring about profound spiritual growth and healing. The concept of twin flames has gained popularity in recent years, with many individuals seeking to find their own twin flame and experience the deep connection that is said to come with it.

Why Twin Flames Run

Twin flames run from a twin flame connection for various reasons. This can include fear of vulnerability, unresolved past traumas and not being ready for the intensity of the relationship. In addition, self-doubt and feelings of unworthiness can also hold some twin flames back from embracing the fullness of this spiritual relationship.

Many twin flames run away because the overwhelming intensity of the connection becomes too much to handle. The twin flame bond consumes them completely, which can be frightening for many. The flood of emotions can feel suffocating and make some feel like they’re drowning.

ARE THEY HANDLING THEIR FEELINGS?

When a twin flame enters someone’s life, it shatters the emotional walls they have built to protect themselves, making them feel vulnerable. Many adults have learned to handle their emotions in a way that makes them feel safe. These coping mechanisms go out the window when faced with the intensity of a twin flame connection. Such vulnerability can be uncomfortable and daunting, especially if it’s something never experienced before.

When twin flames first meet there’s a sense of euphoria where both go with the flow and enjoy the experience. However, this state of bliss can be short-lived as the logical side of the brain begins to question if this connection is real. This may lead to confusion as the brain throws out questions like: What the hell are you doing? How can you be acting like this? Explain how you can feel this way with someone you just met? Have you lost your mind? What if you get hurt?

This can really scare many twin flames as they don’t have a way to rationalize what they are feeling and experiencing.

FEAR MAKES TWIN FLAMES RUN

Twin flames often run away and disappear due to their fear of the intense and confusing connection. The lack of rational explanation for this intense bond can be overwhelming, causing them to retreat and avoid confronting their emotions. They may suddenly block all forms of communication and act as if their spiritual counterpart doesn’t exist.

The real purpose of a twin flame connection is for personal growth, self-improvement, and spiritual awakening. They need to face and address certain issues that are holding them back. Ultimately, it is the journey to becoming and living life as your most authentic self. This involves making changes in their lives such healing past traumas and overcoming fears that hold them back. Rather than seeking support and making changes, many choose to remain stagnant and unchanging in their behavior.

Running away from a twin flame connection will only make the situation worse. The connection is designed to help them rise and overcome challenges, not avoid them. Those who choose to walk away from their twin flame, instead of working through and healing their issues, make a conscious choice. So, it’s important to remember that a twin flame is not running from you. They are running from themselves as well as the work they need to do to create and live their best life.

As hard as it is, the best thing you can do is respect their choices and let them learn from their mistakes. The universe will help them realize the errors of their ways, so trying to teach them, is a waste of your time and energy. It’s so important to allow them to evolve and grow in their own time, even though it’s difficult. Trust that when they return, they will be a better version of themselves.

Making Friends with Your Intuition

Intuition is not just for professionals. It’s something everyone has—even you. And the more you get to know yours, the stronger it will be.

Oh, but you’re not intuitive, you say? Maybe you don’t think of yourself that way, but your intuition has been working for you all your life. It’s been in every hunch you followed. It’s there when you text a friend who answers saying she was just thinking about you. It’s the funny sensation that inspires changing your route or departure time or plans. It’s behind any strong reaction you have when you meet someone (especially if you immediately think of a person you had a bad experience with).

There are many ways intuition may communicate with you. They are not mutually exclusive, and you might be stronger at some types than others. You might hear. You might see images or visions. You may get feelings. You might simply know.

The form doesn’t matter; what’s important is an open and trustworthy line of communication between your mind and your intuition. You can shore up this line and build trust. The more you act on your intuition, the stronger the link will be.

An easy way to pump up your link is to follow through on even the simplest messages. Try this for a few days: When a simple idea comes to you out of the blue, act on it. Does a particular coffee shop cross your mind? Go to it. Don’t try to force anything; don’t expect a magical event in flashing neon lights. Just go, and be open. You may never know why dropping in was important. That’s not the point; showing your intuition you’re listening is.

Or you’re driving down a street and wonder about turning right when you’d normally continue ahead? If you’ve got the time, turn right. Change your route. Once when a friend of mine did this, she ended up at a store filled with buckets and buckets of her deceased mother’s favorite flower – her way of saying hi.

Another easy way to build your link is by actively monitoring your energy and listening to it. The second part is essential. Suppose you get a weird or anxious feeling in your core. In that case, that’s a warning signal to tread lightly or, better, turn back, even if what you’re walking toward makes sense logically. The most recent time I ignored this, I was trying to clean up my end of a misunderstanding. Unfortunately, I walked into a minefield from which the relationship never recovered.

Your energy can tell you how to proceed. Excitement or enthusiasm means “This way, please!” A sick or weird feeling, dread, or anxiety means “No!” (See my earlier example.) If you’re neutral, that could mean “not worth it” or maybe just “not now.”

Paying attention to your energy will also help you learn to distinguish your thoughts from your intuition. If something is running through your head again and again and again, check how it feels. How it makes you feel? Are you anxious? Worried? Tense? Obsessed? That’s probably not your intuition.

Do you feel calm? Do you have a strong sense of knowing independent of logic or empirical evidence? There you go; that’s your intuition. Here are some other ways it may show up. Does a notion fall into your head that has nothing to do with what you’d been thinking? Sure smacks of intuition. Does an idea or impulse wash over you? Bubble up from deep in your body? (I once heard “This isn’t going to work” rise up from my core and knew instantly my new live-in relationship was hopeless. Which it was.) Again, not your thinking; your intuition.

Don’t assume intuition is always quiet, though. Sometimes it comes with a fierceness that makes sure you pay attention. Does it call out your name? Listen to that, tout suite. Do you have an urgent impulse? Definitely not your mind, but your intuition. Hop to it!

All these approaches, little or big, respect your intuition and encourage it to grow. Think of them like watering a plant. Have fun with the process. You’re building a tool for life that may end up amazing and amusing you.

Manifesting & Divine Timing

Dear spiritual friends, we have delved into deeper issues related to Manifesting our desires over the past month. We first addressed the ‘Year of the Rabbit;’ and then focused on Omens/Signs; last week, we discussed self-imposed barriers to manifesting, and this week we are looking deeper into a controversial topic: Divine Timing.

Why is Divine Timing controversial?

Regarding this topic, there are two schools of thought. One school of thought says that sacred timing matters. The other school of thought says that Timing does not exist. And as long as we believe “it” and become “it”, Timing does not matter. For this blog, we will take a middle-ground approach. So, let’s talk more about Divine Timing, shall we?!

What is Divine Timing?

It is the belief that everything in your life happens at precisely the right moment. Although events may seem complicated, Divine Timing means that the Universe places people, things, challenges, and more into your life at the right moment. Not surprisingly, we tend to understand why things happen the way they do after the fact, and that’s why we are called to trust Divine Timing.

Why should we trust Divine Timing?

There is incredible peace when we accept that the Universe is always “conspiring on our behalf” and that our spirit team is always guiding us. It is a fantastic feeling when we genuinely accept that things happen for a reason. As co-creators of our life, it is up to us to co-create with the Universe by working with what is presented to us at this present moment in time, in Divine Timing.

When we think about our past and look at the challenges presented, we can assess how much we grew from those challenges. Divine Timing, the Universe, will never give you anything you are not ready for. If you were not prepared, you would not receive omens, and you would not be getting new ideas or suddenly feel inspired to do whatever you want or think you should do.

How can we trust Divine Timing?

When my clients ask me this question, they mean to ask: how can I trust that everything will work out? This question comes from our perceived need to feel in control. To know that action A will lead to outcome B. For example, we are used to placing an order online and knowing exactly when that order will be delivered. But as you all know by now, the Universe does not work this way.

We must ask for it, believe that we have it, or that it will happen, and then become one with the desire. As Neville Goddard teaches, we must assume the feeling of the wish is fulfilled. We must be confident that whatever we desire is already ours. We are not waiting for it to happen in the future; we already have it. By working under this strong, full-of-faith assumption, things/events/people will show up in our lives in Divine Timing. We need to let go of control. Let go of the need to know when. Just assume the state of the wish is fulfilled, and you will have everything you want in Divine Timing.

Self-Imposed Barriers to Manifesting

Manifestation means we immerse ourselves in a visualized environment so we feel we are living in that environment until it becomes our reality. Some people believe and teach that manifesting does not involve action. Books like The Secret, for example, teach you to sit quietly and imagine what you want, and you will get it. I wish to tell you that things are just that simple.

Manifesting also involves action, but inspired action. We must follow the signs or omens so that we act inspired by the universe. There are many reasons why something we desire only manifests or takes a short time to display. Often, those reasons involve some self-imposed barriers or blockages. One self-imposed barrier is our beliefs. Unfortunately, our thoughts do not always align with our desires. Imagine, for
example, a person who has failed at manifesting a remote job. That person might have an unconscious belief that they do not deserve the job or that perhaps remote jobs are only given to “smarter, younger, or more tech-savvy candidates.” Ideas can also include fear of the responsibilities that may come with tremendous success, that minor roles are challenging, etc.

Whether the beliefs are conscious or subconscious, they can hold us back, so we must reflect on our thoughts and see if they create barriers to manifesting. To identify your beliefs, use your awareness and ask yourself, “What is my belief about success? What are my thoughts about money? What are my thoughts about love, relationships, etc.?”

Once you are clear about your beliefs, you can change them. But, of course, changing beliefs will take practice and dedication. First, you must question yourself and reflect on your feelings regarding a situation. But, with practice, you can change your beliefs, and your desires will manifest!

Another self-imposed barrier to manifesting is self-sabotage. Self-sabotaging can be present in many ways. For example, a person has a very successful YouTube channel, and to continue to grow the track, the person has to create more engaging videos. The person knows
that they should take a content creation course, but they start procrastinating. They don’t want to do it but don’t know why. They don’t feel motivated. Suddenly, they realize that they are afraid of tremendous success. Being fearful of greater success is a belief, so the person starts self-sabotaging. There is a book called “The Big Leap.” In this book, the author discusses how most of us operate in our comfort zone but never get to our site of genius. When you procrastinate about taking action, I want you to pause, reflect, and examine your underlying beliefs and why you might be self-sabotaging your potential manifestations!

Another crucial factor in manifesting is Divine Timing, and I added my vision board to my manifesting plan. The more I stay focused and keep myself free and clear of stress and anxiety, what I ask for comes back to me, and it is always better than what I asked. God has a plan for all of us. The key to this was turning to him, allowing him to help, and having faith and trust that will go a long way in your life.

I remember the first time I read the book The Alchemist. It was early in my spiritual journey and the book intrigued me. By the way, if you haven’t read the book yet, I encourage you to get yourself a copy or listen to the audiobook which is available for free on YouTube.

One of the main points in The Alchemist is that we have to learn the language of the world/universe. The book says that the world communicates in Omens and that a path has been established for everyone to follow. We just must read the Omens that are left for us along the path. But what are Omens? Omens are messages that foretell the future. The universe can, and does, communicate in Omens/symbols but sometimes we are just too busy to pay attention.

The energy of 2023 says that to manifest, we must be in the receiving mode and be patient. The year of the rabbit encourages us to align with the flow of the universe. We must get out of our head and get into our heart, and learn to speak the language of the world like the book The Alchemist tells us. So, in this blog I will share the meaning of some omens present in nature. The omens might be presented to you in dreams, pictures, when on a walk, etc. Just make sure that you are in the receiving mode and aligned with nature’s flow, so you don’t miss them!

Rabbits: they appear on your path to bring you messages of abundance and/or fertility.

Crows: when crows appear on our path, it means that the truth will be finally revealed to you.

Spiders: feared by many, disliked by more! But spiders are an omen that tells you that a friend will come to help you.

Ladybug: these cute little insects are omens of joy and good luck.

Snake: although they carry a negative connotation due to the Adam & Eve story in the bible, snakes are a great omen that tell you that your passion will open doors of power.

Deer: When you see a deer, your spirit team is telling you that they know what you are going through. They’ve got your back, so you should have faith!

Lizard: lizards are great omens that remind us to pay attention to our dreams. They tell us that our dreams are, or will, be revealing something important.

Owl: these birds are considered enigmatic and mysterious. As omens, they bring a clear message that we need to proceed with caution because something BIG is coming our way.

Cat: friends of many, but disliked by some, cats remind us that hidden forces and spiritual powers are with and near us.

There are many other animals and object omens that the universe uses to communicate with us. When you notice “something” on your path, pay attention. Connect with your inner guidance to figure out the significance of it for you and your life.

Manifesting in 2023: The Year of the Rabbit

Early last Spring, I planted my garden. I was very proud of it because it had a ton of vegetables. I might finally become the vegetarian many spiritual practitioners recommend us to become.

I woke up one morning, and all my plants were gone! And there it was, that little rabbit with his belly complete! I ran to Home Depot and bought a fence and new seeds. Aha! I am smarter than you are, little fellow, or so I thought! A few days passed, and my garden looked green and beautiful until the little fellow found its way back inside, and everything was gone. All my vegetables were gone again, and so were my dreams of becoming a vegetarian, sigh. That little fellow had the patience of (as my very Catholic aunt would say) a Saint!

I waited and waited for days to find another way. The rabbit was gentle in its approach, quiet, alert, skillful, and patient, but also quick when it found a way to enter my garden. And that’s how the energies of 2023 are, which it’s the year of the rabbit.

When I connected with the energies of 2020 and 2021, I remember they felt fast and furious. There were many rapid changes due to COVID-19 and its impact on everything we do. When connecting to 2023 energy, however, change is still coming, but the energy is gentler, quiet, and more patient. For many years the world operated on male energy. Now, in 2023, the power feels more female. We have experienced a lot of changes, and now we should be in our receiving mode, but just like the rabbit, we should remain alert and follow the omens left by our spirit team to make changes. When we follow signs/warnings, the changes happen quickly (just like the rabbit!) but will be more purposeful, intentional, and direct.

Working from our female energy will allow us to be guided by our hearts, not our minds. It will enable us to listen more and stop acting mindlessly. We (humans) are coming from an era of “grinding,” “making things happen,” and taking control. In 2023, however, we are being told we should remain open to the signs of the universe, open to the omens, and follow them and act when we see them, while still following the natural flow of the universe. Control less and listen more is what the energy of 2023, the year of the rabbit, tells us to do.

The Importance of TOUCH

Have you heard the term “Touch Starvation”?

Last week I learned my new neighbor had lost his beloved cat after 17
years. His name was Elvis and, as my neighbor was telling me about it, I
could sense his deep sense of loss. My neighbor is single, lives alone and
was always welcomed by his beloved Elvis, the pitter patter of his little feet
greeting him when he came home and providing comfort as only a pet can
with pure unconditional love. Elvis was his lifeline to “touch”.

Today I want to talk to you about unconditional love and our need as
humans to have touch or social contact in our life. There is a term called
“touch starvation”. Many of us have experienced this because of “social
distancing” during the Covid-19 Pandemic. But this has been experienced
by those in hospitals, care facilities and orphanages too. There are many
reasons for us to experience love, touch or social contact and what
happens when we are deprived of it? I will attempt to cover a few of them.
Why is touch so important? We bond through touch with co-workers,
loved ones and friends. It is how humans interact. Because ‘skin’ is the
largest organ in the human body we are able to receive and sends signals
to our brain with touch. A hug can release the hormone oxytocin. Oxytocin
is the feel good hormone and helps to lower fear and anxiety. When babies
are born Mother’s typically hold and comfort their babies. What we’ve
learned now is that this interaction is just the beginning to our well being
as humans. Touch helps to regulate sleep and digestion and boost our
immune system.

Lack of touch can create stress, anxiety and depression. Cortisol is a
hormone that is released as a result of stress. This can affect blood
pressure, heart rate, muscle tension and our breath. As our breath
becomes shallow our immune and digestive systems are affected too. Our
quality of sleep is disrupted and we become at higher risk of infections
and other more serious long term medical conditions.

These are some of the things we have been seeing with friends,
acquaintances and family in a more dramatic way since the pandemic
started. But there are ways to counteract these affects and one of them is
to interact with our pets or animals at sanctuaries or rescue facilities. Small
or large our animal companions can make a difference in our life. The act
of caring for another living being can take us out of the funk we may be in
and allow us to be of service to them. In reality they are in service to us.
Depending on the pet they may greet you at the door with kisses, and
love. They are so excited to see us in the morning and when we return
home. It has been shown that when we pet a dog or cat they can help us
reduce our blood pressure, calm us down and take our minds off anything
that may be creating pressure. Playing with your pet can help you relax by
releasing oxytocin, that feel good hormone in our brain.

Large or small interaction in general with animals can take us away from
our worries and reduce stress. Whether we are volunteering at a sanctuary,
a rescue facility or interacting with our own pets, touch in this way is an
act of being of service and to show grace and gratitude to other living
beings.

I read recently that a cat’s mission in life is to remove the negative energy
accumulated in our body. When we sleep they absorb energy that
accumulates in us. They protect us as we sleep. If they feel they are
needed by us they will sleep with us, if we are fine then they won’t sleep
with us. It has been scientifically shown that the purring sound or vibration
emanating from a cat can actually knit bones and heal bodies. Cats may
have a different way of showing love but don’t doubt that the love they
share is true.

I have had the honor of sharing my life with my dog Inochi, who just
turned 7 years old this year. He has been a loving companion for me.

He has been with me through thick and
thin and gives me opportunities everyday to go outside and get exercise
for both of us. He helps me stay active because we walk daily. And then,
because it wasn’t enough love for me, during the pandemic and the long
lonely days, I had to have a cat to join us. But wait, not just one! Being
new to cat guardianship I realized it is best to have two so that they can
interact. Nigel and Sasha are now part of the crew. Three furry friends who
give me deep love and affection every single day. And somedays it’s quite
a circus but they make me laugh and give me comfort. I am honored to
have them in my life to help me through.

First Aid for Freak Out

It’s a near daily occurrence: You come across something that sets you off, in a conversation,
in a social media post, on the news. Emotions erupt. Words rise up in you, maybe so many
that you have trouble piecing them together coherently. You feel anxiety and panic. Worst-
case scenarios flood your mind. Your blood pressure rises. Your heart pounds. You find it hard
to let go of whatever’s triggered you.

You have been hit with a energetic virus. Unlikely with a physical virus, you can combat it. All
you need is a few shifts in attitude, the ability to visualize or imagine, and the willingness to
try.

Keep this first aid checklist on hand for your next freak out:
1. Disengage with the trigger.
Do not respond. Leave the conversation or social media site. Turn off the news.

2. Breathe.
Breathe in. Breathe out. If you’re badly agitated, cover your mouth with your hand and
breathe into it until you feel your breath slow. Imagine that you’re breathing out tension,
anxiety, and panic. Imagine that you’re breathing in calm.

3. Clear your mind.
Acknowledge and then act on freaked out, irrational thoughts. Here are two easy ways to do
this.

Physically: Write down everything that’s running through your mind. Everything, especially the
crazy. Write until your hand tires, then write more. Take as many pieces of paper as you need.
When you feel complete, put all the pieces of paper you’ve scribbled on into a box with a lid
on it. Put the lid on the box, and put the box out of your sight. Your choice whether to open it
later. If you like, treat this as handing the issue over to a higher power. (Tosha Silver
describes this technique as a God box in her book It’s Not Your Money.)

With visualization: Imagine a stack of paper, a pen with an unbreakable point, and a box with
a lid on it. Imagine writing down everything that’s running through your mind, using as many
pieces of paper as you need. When you feel complete, put the paper in the box and place the
lid on it. Put the lid on shelf in the back of your mind. Leave it there for as long as you like
(including forever). If you do ever return to the box, you can sort through the paper, keep
some, and throw some out. Or you can blow up the box and dispose of the debris.

4. Remove the virus from your energy field.
Visualize a horseshoe magnet. (It’s shaped like a horseshoe, only red with black tips). Point
the tips toward you.

Now imagine that you’re facing whatever set you off. If it’s a person, see that person. If it’s
not, imagine an image that represents the trigger to you – a group of people, a written
message, even a big blob.

Place the magnet in front of that, with the tips pointed at you. Instruct the magnet to pull the
energy of that person, or group, or situation, out of you and return it.

Sit with this. As the magnet works, you may feel a pulling sensation. As the clearing finishes,
you may feel a pop and then calm. This may happen in your solar plexus (your power center,
and frequently where attacks plug in) or in your root chakra (your survival center).
When you feel complete, drop the magnet.

5. Remove your energy from the trigger.
Visualize another horseshoe magnet. Place it at your solar plexus and point it at the person or
the image whose energy you just returned. Instruct the magnet to pull your energy out of that
person or image and return it to you.

When you feel complete, drop the magnet.

Any combination of these tactics will help bring you back to center. In a pinch, disengage and
apply the magnets. With practice, you can have them running simultaneously.

Then, and only then, decide whether to respond. Odds are you won’t want to waste the
energy.

How to read tea leaves and what to look out for

Tasseography is the art of visionary tea leaf reading, and I welcome you to this blog on how to read the leaves.

Did you know that it doesn’t matter which caffeine enhanced hot beverage you use when it comes to reading the remnants of a cup, because rather joyously, coffee granules can be read in exactly the same way as its visionary cousin, the tea leaf. Both are wonderfully powerful tools to use for seeing into the future.

We are all aware of the legacy of tea leaf reading, which dates back centuries with its origins said to be in Asia and the Middle East. It is Middle Eastern culture, however, and their love and skill for brewing coffee, that has brought the alternative ritual of reading coffee granules to the fore.

As with any ritual there are preparations to be made to help you achieve the most from your brew-induced reading.

In this blog I aim to explain how to use this wonderful gift to help you answer questions or gain insight into what lies ahead.

Here are 7 handy tips to set you on the right path to reading tea leaves or coffee granules:

Select a cup with a smooth inner and no surface decoration
A white or light coloured cup and saucer is the perfect vessel
The wider the mouth of the cup the better
Drink as much of the tea or coffee as you can without consuming the leaves or granules
Brew your tea or coffee in a pot
Meditate to free your mind from distracting chatter before you start reading your leaves or granules
For tea drinkers – I find Earl Grey usually delivers the best results.

While you have your coffee or tea brewing, please try to indulge in a gentle meditation to clear the mind and find a peaceful place without too much distraction so that your thoughts and vision are centered on the cup and the shapes and symbols that lie in front of you.

Brew your tea or coffee in a pot and don’t use any form of strainer so that the leaves and granules are free to find their place. If this reading is for a loved one, or a friend, let them pour the tea or coffee. Their energy and connection to the cup is important. Whilst pouring the cup, you should try to think of any questions you have and visualize the person who you are asking questions for, if it isn’t for yourself.

Mediation is key to freeing your mind to enhance your ability to see and read more clearly. Please don’t worry if at first you find the symbols indistinct, and have some difficulty in identifying them. With practice you will build up confidence and start to find clarity and a stronger focus; meditation helps illuminate the reading in the same way that reading glasses help magnify any tricky to read text. It’s always a good idea to make notes and, if you can, scribble some drawings of the symbols that you see, so that you start to build up a record of pictures and patterns that you can mentally reference and draw upon for future readings.

Allow yourself this freedom of thought, and let’s see what your eyes and especially your intuition and inner feelings are guiding you to see. We are all gifted intuitively and psychologically. We each carry a divine intelligence and have an inner knowledge that we should embrace and seek to bring to the surface. Your level of perception and experience will build with time and you will increase your psychic abilities. And please do have fun whilst you are reading the remains of your delicious cup of coffee or tea. This is a joyous and powerful gift and experience that I want you to enjoy as much as I do.

Once you have finished drinking from the cup and have left the sediment of leaves or granules at the bottom, turn the cup over onto the saucer and allow it to drain. Doing this over a sink is a good idea, to avoid any annoying tea or coffee stains on upholstery or clothes. [No one wants to add stain remover to their tea reading ritual.] Now pick up the cup and start to read what’s inside. Remember to read the leaves or granules in clockwise rotation, starting from the handle. Focus and you will gradually see images and patterns emerging.

The handle of the cup represents you or the person you are about to read. Read the symbols closest to the handle, which represent your thoughts and current situation. The middle of the cup relates to the near future and the bottom of the cup is the more distant future .

A reading of leaves or granules may show you the future in terms of a couple of weeks or a couple of months ahead; there is no rigid timeframe as to where that future lies.

I have been reading leaves for many, many decades; an art which I started to indulge in when I was just seven years old and which I have reveled in practicing ever since.
